RUSSIAN INDUSTRY&SCIENCE MINISTER MEETS WITH MICROSOFT DELEGATION

MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 17 (RIA NOVOSTI) - At a meeting with a delegation of Microsoft on Monday, Russian acting minister for industry, science and technologies Andrei Fursenko looked into ways for broadening the activities of that American corporation in Russia.

According to the ministerial press release, received by RIA Novosti on Tuesday, Fursenko told the American delegation that "a tendency towards an appreciable reinvigoration of hi-tech sectors is observed in Russia." In this context, possible ways of extending Microsoft operation in Russia have been mapped out. One is, above all, research and development work with the involvement of Russian specialists in the field of engineering, establishment of joint research centers, carrying out educational programs of mutual interest.

In addition, the acting minister told delegates about the intellectual property situation in Russia. He recalled that, at a session on January 22, the cabinet of ministers considered proposals on passing to developers the rights of property on the results of intellectual work.
