MOSCOW, February 16, 2004. (RIA Novosti). Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Lithuanian counterpart Roland Paksas on the national holiday, the Independence Day, Vladimir Putin's press service said.
The head of state is convinced that Russia and Lithuania will be able to provide further productive development of political, trade and economic, and humanitarian links for the benefit of the two nations.
"Russian-Lithuanian relations have recently reached a new level of mutual understanding and beneficial cooperation on the basis of good-neighborliness, equality and respect for each others' interests," the Russian President's message said.
