MOSCOW, February 16, 2004. /RIA Novosti correspondent Grigory Tebenikhin/ - The INTEKO company headed by Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov's wife Yelena Baturina has refuted information that it owns the Transvaal aqua-park. On Saturday the roof in the aqua-park situated in the west of Moscow collapsed killing at least 25 people.
"The Transvaal aqua-park does not belong to ZAO INTEKO, has never been managed on behalf of the company's owner and president Yelena Baturina. All information about it that appeared in mass media is incorrect," reads a statement signed by Baturina received by RIA Novosti on Monday.
The statement points out that neither the company nor its shareholders have ever been founders or co-owners of Transvaal and that INTEKO and Transvaal "have never had any contract relations".
The company intends to ask all mass media that "allowed such information" to publish a disclaimer, otherwise it will protect its honour and dignity in court.
