MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 16 (RIA Novosti) - The press service of the soccer club Saturn (Moscow region) confirmed the information on its chief coach Oleg Romatnsev's resignation for health reasons.

According to the team's press attache Igor Meshchanchuk, ex-coach of Spartak Moscow and former chief coach of the Russian national team Romantsev had asked the club's managers for resignation way back during the training session in Turkey before the season began but got a refusal.

"After the training session Romantsev met with Boris Gromov, governor of the Moscow region, and again tendered resignation, which was accepted that time," Meshchanchuk said.

He also noted than all novices invited by Romantsev stay with the team. As regards the appointment of a new coach, Meshchanchuk said he was coming very soon.

"The observer council, also attended by Gromov, will be gathered one of these days. It will elect a new coach," Meshchanchuk said. "The claimants are Vladimir Fedotov, Valery Gazzayev, Boris Ignatyev, Vadim Nikonov and Valery Nepomnyashchy." Romantsev came to Saturn last fall, replacing Vitaly Shevchenko. Still, the former coach of the Russian national team has not reached much success for Saturn.
