MOSCOW, February 16 (RIA Novosti) - The Central Election Commission (CEC) is expected to look into complaints filed by Nikolai Kharitonov and Irina Khakamada, the presidential candidates nominated by the Communist Party and running independent of any party support respectively, this week. They demand that some media outlets, particularly two central TV channels, be made accountable for airing the meeting with his representatives of incumbent President Vladimir Putin, who is running for re-election, CEC chief Alexander Veshnyakov told reporters on Monday.

He said Mr Kharitonov filed the complaint with the commission late last week, while Ms Khakamada filed hers on Monday.

Mr Veshnyakov denied further comments. "You are going too fast. The CEC will inquire into the case and reply to the declarants," said Mr Veshnyakov.
