MOSCOW, February 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov has begun his two-day working trip to the country's Northern Fleet. He will check the readiness of the Fleet's forces and means, and also supervise the second stage of the strategic command-and-staff exercises of the Russian naval forces, the defense ministry told RIA Novosti.
The Northern Fleet training began last week. According to the Russian defense ministry, missiles are to be launched from a submarine as part of the training.
