EARTHQUAKE IN PAKISTAN'S NORTH KILLS DOZENS

ISLAMABAD, February 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Vladimir Shreter/. According to the latest information, the earthquake in Pakistan's north killed 20 and injured dozens of people.

Two shocks measured 5.7 and 5.4 on the Richter scale, the Pakistani state TV reported on Sunday. The epicenter of the earthquake was 200 kilometers to the north-east of Peshawar. This town has the greatest number of victims.

Shocks felt in Kashmir and Islamabad. Fortunately, there were no victims there.

Rescuers were sent to the disaster region.
