RUSSIA, EU DISCUSS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP IN MOSCOW

MOSCOW, February 13, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Strategic partnership between Russia and the European Union was on the agenda of Friday talks between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Chizhov and head of the European Commission's delegation to Moscow Richard Wright, the ministry's information and press department reported to RIA Novosti.

Chizov and Wright considered the issues of forming four common spaces (the economic space; the space of freedom, security and justice; the space of common foreign security; the space of science, research, education and culture), as well as the schedule of meetings for the first six months of 2004.

The parties also touched upon problems related to the EU expansion.
