MAKHACHKALA, February 13, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Dekabr Beibutov). Two bandits were destroyed in Daghestan (a republic in the North Caucasus bordering on Chechnya). On Friday's morning these bandits killed three policemen in the Dammatbekyurt village of Khasavyurt district. This was reported by officers-on-duty of the Interior Ministry of Daghestan with reference to the participants in the special operation.
When chasing down criminals near the Osmanyurt settlement, the police destroyed two criminals who were surrounded and offered armed resistance, the Interior Ministry of Daghestan reported.
At present measures are taken for apprehending the third criminal . "He has been surrounded and if he does not surrender he will be destroyed," the agency's source said.
Three police officers were killed and another three wounded in the morning of Friday in the Dammatbekyurt village of the Khasavyurt district of Daghestan.
