MOSCOW, February 13 (RIA Novosti). Colonel-general Rashid Nurgaliyev, acting Interior Minister said at the extended Interior Ministry board session on Friday that the Ministry tax subdivisions collected over 2.3 bln. rubles in 2003 ($1 equals 30 rubles approximately).
"Though the tax crimes subdivisions are included in the interior ministry infrastructure not long ago /both tax police and tax inspection were independent departments till 2003/ they fully perform their duties. These departments have revealed 2.5 thousand crimes with 63 percent of them being large scale tax evasion. Over 2.3 bln. rubles were brought to the state budget which is 50 percent more than 2002," Nurgaliyev reported.
