TBILISI, February 11 (RIA Novosti correspondent Marina Kvaratskhelia) - Leader of the Georgian guerrilla movement Forest Brothers David Shengelia decided to surrender arms.

"I took this decision after the anti-criminal operation of the Georgian Interior Ministry last week," Shengelia told RIA Novosti.

According to him, on Wednesday evening guerrillas will lay down their weapons to the Abkhaz Interior Ministry in the town of Zugdidi (Western Georgia).

"I plan to discuss the future of Georgian guerrillas with Interior Minister Giorgy Baramidze. We are to solve the problem of their employment," Shengelia said.

The Forest Brothers are the largest group of Georgian guerrillas in the forests of Samegrelo district (Western Georgia), close to the administrative border with Abkhazia.

Abkhazia is a self-proclaimed republic in Georgia. Sukhumi is its capital.
