MOSCOW, February 11, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Mutual investments of Russia and Georgia would be a rational step in the relations between the two countries, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili told reporters on Wednesday before meeting with Russian businessmen.

"We met with Russian entrepreneurs and insistently invited them to Georgia. Not only the activity of the military should tie Russia and Georgia but also economic relations - Russian investments into the Georgian economy, and investments of Georgian businessmen into the Russian economy," said Mikhail Saakashvili.

President of the State University - Higher Economic School Alexander Shokhin told reporters that Saakashvili's Moscow meetings with Russian businessmen are the continuation of the similar contacts by the Georgian leader which he began at the international forum of entrepreneurs in Davos.

According to Shokhin, "at these meetings the sides discussed not concrete projects, but the questions connected with a political support of Georgian economic projects."
