GROZNY, February 11, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Two militiamen were wounded in the Chechen capital of Grozny when militants shelled a militia station.

"At 22:25, Moscow time, unidentified persons were shelling the building of a militia station in the village of Neftyanka for fifteen minutes. During this skirmish a captain and a senior lieutenant of the militia station were wounded," a spokesman for the Interior Ministry said.

That same day, two militiamen and a worker from the housing municipal service were slightly injured as a result of the explosion in the territory of the Prosecutor' Office in the Gudermes district.

"The explosion took place on Tuesday morning when the rubbish was being burnt in the courtyard of the Prosecutor's Office. Presumably, it was a round to a VOG-17 grenade launcher that blasted. A major and a junior lieutenant of the district interior department were injured. Medical aid was rendered to them on the spot," said the spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

According to him, a worker from the housing municipal service, who stood nearer the centre of the explosion, was taken to a city hospital with a fragmentation wound.
