"The state must say: from now on, all cars of railway trains must be equipped with Russian receivers GLONASS, and then with (foreign) systems GPS, Galileo etc.," the deputy prime minister told a Tuesday press conference.
Then, in the deputy prime minister's words, another $200 for a GLONASS receiver will be needed besides $36,000 (the cost of car).
In Alyoshin's words, on the one hand, it will ensure the safety of passengers, and on the other, will make it possible to create an integrated system of transport control and the necessary stimuli to form a commercial market.
Alyoshin spoke for joining efforts with the international business community with the aim of developing the Russian space navigation system GLONASS.
"We are advanced as regards navigation systems, and when we are placed on the same level with China, with all my respect for that country, I don't think it's right," he emphasized.
In Alyoshin's words, the knowledge Russia has in the field of construction and deployment of global navigation systems "unconditionally leaves behind the knowledge of the people who intend to create the Galileo European navigation system."
"And we can be extremely useful for Europeans here, for the benefit of mutual enrichment," he said.
