DOMODEDOVO (Moscow region), February 10th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - The Russian government can stabilise prices on the grain and bread markets of the country, said Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref.

"There is sufficient grain to last us till the next harvest without any panic demand," said the minister on Tuesday in his remarks before the fourth Duma deputies.

He recalled that the government had adopted the decision on commodity interventions on the grain market in a bid to stabilise the prices. According to Gref, "the stabilising" role is also performed by customs measures, such as raised export duties for grain.
