"I have no doubts that we will achieve successes in the creation of 21st century technology that are no smaller than in previous years," Mr. Alyoshin said in response to a question about the prospects of developing 5th generation fighter planes at a press conference on Tuesday.
The deputy prime minister noted that this program provides for the step by step development of aviation engineering. According to him, before a 5th generation aircraft will be created, 4+ and 4++ generation aircraft will be developed.
Mr. Alyoshin emphasized that practically nothing in the present state of Russian military aviation engineering is inferior to the leading foreign models.
"In regards to armaments we are not inferior to anybody, piloting is also at the highest level. We are a little inferior in electronic components, but we compensate for this with successful programming," the deputy prime minister said.
