MOSCOW, February 10, 2004. / RIA Novosti correspondent /. Russia's foreign ministry does not rule out that Georgia's debt to Russia on state credits will be a subject of negotiations during the current visit of Georgia's president Mikhail Saakashvili to Russia. Saakashvili arrived in Moscow on February 10.

Alexander Yakovenko, the Russian foreign ministry's official spokesman, made a statement to this effect Tuesday, when replying to the journalists' questions about President Saakashvili's visit to Russia.

Yakovenko recalled that Georgia's debt to Russia on state credits amounted to about 157 million dollars now, "As is known, the Russian side has agreed to restructure this debt within the framework of the Paris Club of creditors, but the Georgian side has failed to implement certain internal procedures related to the respective bilateral agreement," Yakovenko noted.
