MOSCOW, February 9, (RIA Novosti correspondent) - The decision on whether or not Religion should be taught at public general-education schools, can only be made after a broad discussion, said President Vladimir Putin responding to a statement by one of the members of the Presidential Council for science and high technologies.
"I have discussed it on multiple occasions with representatives of public associations and religious confessions. We have the Constitution and federal laws, which say that Church is separated from the state. We have no plans to change the situation," the president noted.
