MOSCOW, February 8, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Nikolai Makarov) - The Central Election Commission has finished registration of presidential hopefuls. A total seven qualify for the race-incumbent Vladimir Putin; Communist nominee Nikolai Kharitonov; Liberal Democrat Oleg Malyshkin; Speaker Sergei Mironov of the Federation Council, parliament's upper house; Ivan Rybkin, recent federal Security Council Secretary; Sergei Glazyev, Rodina parliamentary group leader; and Irina Hakamada, temporarily unemployed.
Glazyev and Hakamada were the last to register with the commission, this afternoon.
