MUNICH, February 8, 2004. (RIA Novosti special correspondent Alexei Berezin) - A 40th, jubilee international conference on security issues is over in Munich.

"The conference was interesting. The agenda comprised all burning issues of the day--in particular, transatlantic partnership, Russia-NATO contacts, and temporary coalitions," says Sergei Ivanov, Defence Minister and Russian delegation head.

During the conference, he met with Donald Rumsfeld, US Secretary of Defence; and Peter Struck, Germany's Defence Minister, to debate Iraqi and Afghan developments.

Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, newly appointed NATO Secretary General, had his maiden conference with Mr. Ivanov, too.
