BOCA RATON, FLA, USA, FEBRUARY 8, RIA NOVOSTI - The entire G8 pledges to assist Russia as it is fighting Central Asian terrorism financing, says Alexei Kudrin, Russia's Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. He was taking part, on his country's behalf, in a conference of G8 countries' Finance Ministers and Central Bank presidents in Boca Raton, Florida. "We have received support to get a combat going against terrorism financing in Central Asia," Mr. Kudrin announced to the media, yesterday.

Moscow will host, next week, a Russian-organised seminar on the matter and on a wide range of related issues, he added.

Russia advanced an initiative in Stockholm, September last, to establish a regional ad hoc team for Central Asia under the FATF aegis. The International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the USA and the UK offered support.

Russia is willing to offer knowhow, technical assistance and finance to implement related systems in those countries, reassures Alexei Kudrin.
