    MOSCOW, February 7 (RIA Novosti) - The man detained in Moscow, who was similar to the composite picture of the suspected perpetrator of the terrorist act in the Moscow subway, as well as his companion, have been released, said Kirill Mazurin, the head of the Moscow GUVD information and PR department.

    "The detained men were thoroughly checked, and nothing suspicious in their activities was discovered," Mazurin said.

    Around 11:30 a.m. Moscow time, in the Northwestern administrative district road patrolling service officers detained a VAZ-2109 car with a person similar to the suspected criminal.

    According to Mazurin, information about this man was received by police from vigilant city dwellers.

    The explosion in the Moscow subway took place Friday about 8:30 a.m. Moscow time between the Avtozavodskaya and Paveletskaya metro stations. 39 people died and 134 were wounded as a result. 105 persons are in Moscow hospitals now.
