MOSCOW, February 6, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Russia is ready to look for a solution of conflicts on the post-Soviet space, including the Nagorny Karabakh conflict, but it will not impose anything on Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian President Vladimir Putin told a press conference, following the talks with his Azeri counterpart in Moscow.

Nagorny Karabakh is a region in Azerbaijan's territory populated mostly by Armenians. The conflict between the two republics over this disputable region has been lasting for the past ten years.

According to the Russian leader, Azeris and Armenians have to solve the problem of Nagorny Karabakh themselves.

Moscow is ready "to be a guarantor of the agreements that can be achieved," Putin said.
