MOSCOW, February 6, 2004. /RIA Novosti correspondent/ - Early on Friday the Kremlin hosted a private meeting between Presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin and of Azerbaijan Ilkham Aliyev.

The two heads of state had already discussed a number of issues in an informal atmosphere at supper in the Russian leader's residence in Novo-Ogarevo, the Moscow region.

Today the Presidents will hold official talks in the Big Kremlin Palace, first tete-a-tete and then with participation of their delegations, and later they will sign joint documents.

This is Mr. Aliyev's first visit to Moscow in the capacity of the country's president. He was elected to the post on October 15, 2003.
