CROATIA INTENDS TO STEP UP COOPERATION WITH RUSSIA, CROAT FOREIGN MINISTRY SAYS

MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 5, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent Sergei Zelentsov) - Croatia intends to further intensify its wide-ranging cooperation with Russia, Croat Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul points out in a message addressed to his Russian counterpart, Igor Ivanov.

Ivanov received the message Thursday through Bozo Kovacevic, Croatia's new ambassador, report Russian Foreign Ministry spokespeople.

At their meeting today, Messrs. Ivanov and Kovacevic exchanged opinions on some specific issues of the dynamically developing relationship between Russia and Croatia and reviewed progress in the implementation of bilateral agreements reached at the top level, the ministry reveals.
