SHEMURSHA (Chuvashia), February 5th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Vladimir Putin has visited a regional model library in the Chuvash village of Shemursha. The head of state was especially interested in the hall equipped with computers having access to the Internet. Here he talked to some visitors of the library. In particular, one of them, a fourth-form schoolboy Nikita, said he found out information about the necessary medicines for his grandmother on the Internet. His grandmother confirmed that the access to the Internet helped her find the medicines at last. "Now we can order them," she said. "You can order them on the Internet too," answered the president.

Vladimir Putin also talked to some students who do their homework in the library, and one of them said he was preparing a report on the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War against the Nazi (1941-1945).

The model library is an information and cultural, and educational centre. Its target is to increase information provision for villagers.
