MOSCOW/VLADIKAVKAZ, February 5 (RIA Novosti) - On Thursday morning, two people were killed in Vladikavkaz in a grenade explosion, the PR center of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) told RIA Novosti.
According to the center, an unidentified person blew himself up at 10 a.m. with a grenade, killing a woman standing nearby.
The center reported that two versions were under consideration. According to one of them, the incident was caused by careless handling of weapons, whereas the other version suggests that the man blew himself up "for some personal reasons." No other victims have been reported.
The North Ossetian emergencies ministry has confirmed to RIA Novosti the death of the two people. According to the ministry, the explosion went off in an apartment in 24 Kutuzova Street.
The site of the incident has been cordoned off, and an investigative group of the republic's interior ministry has been summoned.
