MOSCOW, February 4, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Natalia Byrkina) -- Since 2005 the growth of tariffs for services of natural monopolies will not exceed the rates of inflation, head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade German Gref said on Wednesday addressing the 5th annual investment conference which is held by the US Chamber of Commerce in Russia.

According to the minister, beginning from next year the government switches to the three-year planning of the tariffs for services of the natural monopolies.

"It is envisaged that the changes in the tariffs for most of the monopolies will not exceed the planned inflation," Gref said.

"Gazprom will be the only monopoly for which the growth in tariffs can outpace inflation rates," he said.
