PRESIDENT OF VENEZUELA AND RUSSIAN VICE-PREMIER DISCUSS BILATERAL RELATIONS

MEXICO, FEBRUARY 4, 2004. (RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT ILYA PROTSENKO). President of Venezuela Ugo Chavez met with Russian vice prime minister Vladimir Yakovlev in the presidential palace Miraflores in Caracas on Tuesday do discuss bilateral relations. Yakovlev is paying a working visit to Venezuela.

The Russian vice-premier confirmed great interest of both countries in the development of bilateral economic, political and cultural relations.

He said, in particular, that Russian enterprises want to participate in the exploration of bauxites deposits, the construction of alumina plant in Venezuela and the development of air communication with the country.

Yakovlev's visit will end on February 4.
