RUSSIA-GREECE: POLICE TO JOIN HANDS FOR OLYMPICS

MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 2, RIA NOVOSTI - Russian and Greek law-enforcement agencies will pool efforts for the next Olympics, Athens, August, the press service of Russia's Interior Ministry reports in an official statement.

Rashid Nurgaliev, Russia's acting Minister of the Interior, received Georgios Floridis, Minister of Public Order and his Greek counterpart, at the Moscow negotiation table today. Dominating the agenda was the two ministries' teamwork to guarantee public safety during the Athenian Olympics next summer, says the statement.

The cause demands adequate efforts not by the host country alone but by the entire world, stressed Mr. Nurgaliev.
