RUSSIAN DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER EMBARKS ON VENEZUELA VISIT

MOSCOW, February 2, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent Alla Isayeva) - Vladimir Yakovlev, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, has embarked on a routine visit to Venezuela. His visit agenda will be dominated by issues related to Russian-Venezuelan economic co-operation.

While in Caracas, Mr Yakovlev is expected to meet Vice-President Jose Vicenter Rangel, who is the co-chairman of the bilateral inter-government commission for co-operation.

They will discuss current trade and business contacts between Russia and Venezuela and the two countries' co-operation in the military-technological and scientific areas. Moreover, they will look into the possibility of expanding the bilateral legal-contractual basis.
