UNMOVIC ACTING CHAIRMAN TO DISCUSS IN MOSCOW RESUMPTION OF IRAQI INSPECTIONS

MOSCOW, February 2, 2004. /RIA Novosti correspondent/ - Acting executive chairman of the UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission Demetrius Perricos will discuss the resumption of international inspections in Iraq in Moscow, RIA Novosti learned at the Russian Foreign Ministry's information and press department.

Perricos will visit Moscow on February 2nd-3rd, the ministry reported.

The agenda of his visit includes consultations with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Fedotov and at the ministry's international organizations department.

"At the meetings the parties are expected to exchange opinions on the prospects of the Commission's resuming its activities in Iraq, as well as consideration of the UNMOVIC's mandate in Iraq by the UN Security Council in compliance with its Resolution 1483," the ministry said in a statement.
