MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 2. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- Legal reform is uphill work in Russia, Valeri Zorkin, chairman of the Constitutional Court, has said. In Moscow on Monday, he was appearing before finalists of the contest Human Rights in the Contemporary World for schoolchildren.

Russian law reform is proceeding "with difficulties, contradictions and huge faults", Zorkin said.

Nevertheless, it is beyond doubt that our country is living through "a historic period", believes the head of the Russian Constitutional Court.
