BELGRADE, January 31 (RIA Novosti correspondent Aleksander Slabynko) - Russia's footzal team in the final third game of the qualifying round of the Europe-2005 Cup tournament defeated the team of Serbia and Montenegro 5:2.
The tournament took place in the Serbian city of Zrenjanin. The Russian team, the tournament favorites, confirmed its high rank and won all the games to gather 9 points, the maximum number.
Thus the Russian team occupied the first place in the 5th qualifying group and reached the final part of the European Cup which would be held in the Czech city of Ostrava.
The second place is occupied by the team of Serbia and Montenegro with 6 points but according to the regulations of the tournament the team will not participate in the European cup finals.
The team of Azerbaijan defeated sportsmen from Georgia 7:3 and finished the tournament with three points. The Georgian team failed to win a single game.
