MOSCOW, January 30th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Russia's Unified Energy Systems (UES) is considering participation in a joint project to lay underwater wire to Estonia for electricity transmission to Finland. Deputy Chairman of Russia's Unified Energy Systems' Board Yakov Urinson said this at the Russia and Baltics in Greater Europe economic forum.

He did not specify the cost of the project and Russia's share in it.

According to Urinson, "Russia's Unified Energy Systems is not conducting trade with Estonia, and electric power transit via Estonia's power grid amounted to 640 million kilowatt hour in 2003."
