TRANSNEFT TO ENLARGE EXPORT CAPACITIES IN 2004

MOSCOW, January 30th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - In 2004, the Transneft oil company is going to enlarge its export capacities by over 30 million tons, Transneft President Semyon Vainshtok told newsmen at the Russia and Baltics in Greater Europe economic forum.

"In 2003, Transneft exported 208 million tons of oil. Next year we will add over 30 million tons," he said.

When asked how export capacities would be increased, the Transneft president said that 24 million tons would come from the enlarged capacity of the Baltic pipeline system, five million tons from Gdansk (Poland), and another 5 million tons from Croatian colleagues."
