MOSCOW, January 28, 2003. (RIA Novosti correspondent Aleksander Bratersky) -- The representation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Moscow reported that on Wednesday IOM director-general Brunson McKinley is to arrive in Moscow on a three-day visit to discuss the problems of struggle against illegal migration.

According to the information of the Federal Migration Service of the Interior Ministry of Russia, the illegal labour migrants coming to Russia annually take $13-15 billion away from the country. At least 1.5 million people without any definite legal status, and 3.5 million foreign citizens engaged in illegal labour activity come to Russia every year.
