RF SECURITY COUNCIL SECRETARY, BELARUSSIAN PREMIER SPEAK FOR STEPPING UP FIGHT AGAINST ECONOMIC CRIME

MINSK, January 27 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo and Belarussian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky spoke for stepping up the fight against economic crime. Their meeting took place on Tuesday in Minsk in the framework of Vladimir Rushailo's routine visit to Belarus.

Satisfaction with the successful bilateral cooperation of law enforcement bodies and secret services of the two countries in the sphere of the fight against crime was expressed at the meeting.

Vladimir Rushailo and Sergei Sidorsky also discussed issues of regional and international security, including the fight against international terrorism, drugs trafficking and organized crime. Special attention was paid to problems of illegal migration.

The Russian SC secretary and the Belarussian premier touched upon the issue of introducing a single currency in light of the Belarussian side's proposals worked out with account for the EU countries' experience.

Issues of the gas and oil sphere, in particular, privatization of the Beltransgaz compnay and gas deliveries to Belarus in 2004 were discussed as well. The sides confirmed their adherence to the idea of the Common Economic Space.
