Upon his arrival, Mr. Rushailo said that his four-day visit would highlight bilateral security issues, in particular the fight against terrorism, organised crime, drug trafficking and illegal migration.
Vladimir Rushailo said energy security would also be considered during the meetings.
Touching upon the gas conflict that erupted between Russia and Belarus recently (it concerns the Russian gas supplies to Belarus), Mr. Rushailo said, "great work has been done, and points of contiguity have been found." According to him, the Russian side views the developments relating to the gas issue as nothing but a dispute between economic management entities.
Mr. Rushailo said that at yesterday's meeting with the Russian government, Vladimir Putin paid special attention to the question of the Russian gas supplies to Belarus. He instructed the government to find a way to provide a credit line for Belarussian counterparts.
