MOSCOW, January 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is currently discussing the Iraqi debt problem and will continue to do so within the Paris Club, said Vladimir Putin.
At his meeting with US State Secretary Colin Powell, the Russian president said, "The settlement of the Iraqi debt is still under discussion. We agree with you in the fact that the UN should return to Iraq." Putin recalled that Moscow had recently held talks with the acting chairman of the Iraqi governing council. "We see this meeting as a sign of moral political support to the council," said Putin. "We are also discussing the Iraqi debt settlement and have agreed to discuss this problem within the Paris Club," said the Russian head of state.
