MAKHACHKALA, January 26 (RIA Novosti) - Unknown persons detonated a grenade in a synagogue courtyard in the Dagestan city of Derbente [Dagestan is Chechnya's neighboring republic making part of the Russian Federation], a Dagestan Interior Ministry source reported.
Ministry officials believe it was an RGD-5 grenade. No one was hurt in the explosion. Seven panes were smashed, the source said. Investigation is underway.
