NEW YORK, JANUARY 26 (RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT ANDREI LOSHCHILIN) - UN Undersecretary for Humanitarian Affairs, Jan Egeland will visit Russia on January 26-29.
Spokesman for UN Secretary General Stefan Dujaric reported that Jan Egeland is expected to hold talks in Moscow with Russian Vice-Premier Galina Karelova, Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov and Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The sides will discuss the situation of refugees in the North Caucasus, the elimination of consequences of the Chernobyl disaster and the development of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere between the UN and Russia.
Then Egeland will leave for the North Caucasus where he will meet with the leaders of Chechnya and Ingushetia, and visit the camps for displaced persons.
