GROZNY, January 24, 2004. /RIA Novosti/. Zhanbarov, suspected of the murder of the head of the Gudermes Criminal Investigation, was detained in Chechnya (Gudermes is Chechnya's largest city) yesterday, the Chechen Interior Ministry told RIA Novosti.
"The detainee was accused of the murder of police captain Termalayev in December 2001," a spokesman for the Interior Ministry said.
Zhanbarov's participation in similar crimes in Chechnya is being checked now, the spokesman said.
