UKRAINE'S RUSSIA YEAR SATISFIES PUTIN

KIEV, JANUARY 23, RIA NOVOSTI - Russia Year in Ukraine is finishing today. Its achievements satisfy Russia's President Vladimir Putin.

"I am of the highest opinion of all events [of the Year]. I feel like bowing low to all who were taking part in them," the President said to a gala in which he decorated Ukrainian nationals with Russian state awards.

Russia Year made another stride forward in bilateral relations, and President Putin is sure both nations see it.

Russian-Ukrainian contacts have made progress in a number of fields. Thus, last year sent the bilateral trade turnover 30 per cent up. This turnover exceeds a billion US dollar month in, month out. The partnerly countries have made considerable success. Now, they are to steadily confirm that success, called the President.

He congratulated the gathering on Russian awards, and wished everyone more achievements.
