KIEV, January 23rd, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent Viktor Demidenko) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Kiev for a two-day working visit.

At Borispol airport, he was met by Ukrainian Vice Premier Dmitry Tabachnik, head of the Ukrainian presidential administration Viktor Medvedchuk, Russian Ambassador Viktor Chernomyrdin, Ukrainian Ambassador to Russia Nikolai Beloblotsky and Kiev Mayor Alexander Omelchenko.

When asked what he thought about incumbent President Leonid Kuchma's possible intention of running for a third term, Vladimir Putin said, "It is Ukraine's internal affair." "We have arrived in Kiev today for exclusively business purposes dealing with further co-operation between Russia and Ukraine," said the president.
