NEW GEORGIAN PRESIDENT EXPECTED TO VISIT MOSCOW SOON

MOSCOW, January 22, 2004. /RIA Novosti/. Georgia's elect President Mikhail Saakashvili is expected to visit Moscow in February.

After Mikhail Saakashvili's victory at the presidential elections in Georgia, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent him an invitation to visit Moscow, said deputy head of the Kremlin administration Sergei Prikhodko.

"We expect him /Saakashvili/ to come in February," Prikhodko noted. Azerbaijan's President Ilkham Aliyev is to pay an official visit to Moscow in early February, he added.

Georgia's elect President Mikhail Saakashvili expects serious changes in Russian-Georgian relations.

"I hope to achieve a serious turn in our relations," Mikhail Saakashvili, currently at the World Economic Forum in Davos, told RIA Novosti.
