MOSCOW, JANUARY 21 (RIA Novosti correspondent Alla Isayeva) - Russia may acquire a number of companies of Kyrgyzstan's military-industrial complex so to get back its debt in kind, Mikhail Kasyanov, Prime Minister of Russia, said to the media after negotiations with Nikolai Tanayev, his Kyrgyz counterpart.

Many Kyrgyz-based military-oriented industrial companies have been at a standstill ever since the Soviet Union collapsed. The Russian military-industrial complex is eager to incorporate such companies, so Russia's top is analysing the prospects, which mainly concern munitions manufacturers.

A Russian expert delegation, which included spokesmen of ministries, other federal agencies and interested industrial companies, visited Kyrgyzstan last year to take stock of the situation on the spot.

Analytical work is finishing to see what Kyrgyz-based companies can contribute to munitions manufacture on Russian government contracts and, possibly, for exports to third countries, said Mikhail Kasyanov.
