MOSCOW, January 21st, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - World Bank President James Wolfensohn does not think that the situation around Russia's oil major, Yukos, will lead to any changes in the Russian authorities' policy. (Former CEOs of the Russian oil giant, Yukos, are now being accused of tax evasion and fraud.) This is a separate case. We will see how this issue will be addressed. But I don't think that the entire policy is being overhauled, Wolfensohn said at a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.

At the same time, he remarked that he is closely following the situation around Yukos. You have a legal system and the government, and let's hope that this problem will be resolved on a legal and transparent basis, giving no reason for concern, said Wolfensohn.
