MOSCOW, January 21. (RIA Novosti). Russian Deputy Prime Minister Boris Alyoshin told journalists that Russia has no plans to construct a new space station with the use of shuttle-type space ships in the near future.
In support of his position, he remarked, "the International Space Station (ISS) is a fine example of a good space project. The Americans fulfill their obligations and we fulfill ours." The deputy prime minister stressed that space programs cannot be undertaken unilaterally.
