MOSCOW, January 21 (RIA Novosti) - The Georgian side has not raised the issue of Russian bases' withdrawal, Georgian Ambassador to Moscow Zurab Abashidze said at a press conference.
The Georgian side has not pushed Russia to pull out its bases, he said. "We have not been particularly tough on the issue," the ambassador emphasized.
At the same time, he said that this problem needed to be addressed. Abashidze referred to the position of president elect Mikhail Saakashvili who favored the withdrawal of the Russian bases, but in such a way that "would not humiliate Russian soldiers and officers."
